How to Mount Your iPhone as an External Drive in Ubuntu.

On Ubuntu with the GNOME desktop environment the iPhone file system should mount automatically once you plug it in. I my case it only mounted a folder called "Documents". I was wanting to access DCIM folder to copy photo graphs. I left this mount as is and used ifuse to mount another.

It is important to unlock your iPhone device screen before attemting to mount the iPhone.

Rebooting may be necessary to clear corrupt mounts.

NOTE: The images stored on icloud may be of higher rsolution the those in the DCIM folder if strorage is low on the phone. This is NOT verified.
