This hub can NOT connect to any Zigbee device. They must be Xiaomi devices, and there is not a big variety in Australia. There are GitHub hacks here that may allow you to connect with other brands. See: https://github.com/AlexxIT/XiaomiGateway3 It is better buy a brand agnostic Zigbee hub instead. It can connect to Xiaomi Bluetooth Mesh devices.
